Core Stability Services

Improper core stabilization will lead to decreased performance and injury. Your core should be strong & stable to allow your arms and legs to propel you forward. HPC provides you with two specialized core training services: Corrective Core Training for all athletes, and Postpartum Performance for women needing special assistance.

Corrective Core Training

Lingering low back stiffness or soreness can be caused by improper activation of the deep core muscles, because the body is relying on the bigger “movement” muscles instead of the smaller stabilizers.

Our core activation specialist will teach you how to properly engage your core and wake up inactive muscles that can lead to low back pain and decreased performance.

  • You will reestablish the proper mechanics of your core, after years of compensation from previous injury, de-conditioned muscles, or pregnancy.
  • Improve pain-free movement to move more efficiently and with greater strength.
  • This is not your typical “kill your abs” type of core program. These types of programs often reinforce improper movement patterns.
  • The progression in this program is with INTENTION first, INTENSITY later.

Postpartum Performance Program (P3)

Don’t fear a sneeze again!

A program specifically designed for the special needs of postpartum mothers wanting to return to activity safely and correctly led by Dani Dresch, NASM CPT & mother of 2.

P3 is a progressive exercise program for postpartum women, that are looking to regain strength in the core, lower/upper back and posterior chain. It’s designed to reduce muscle deficiencies and the risk of injury by strengthening the core stabilizer muscles with corrective exercises.

Weakness in the abdominal muscles and pelvic floor after child birth can be a direct cause of back pain and other kinetic chain issues in postpartum mothers. This program goes back to the basics of correct core breathing and core activation then to building strength with the understanding that a solid base is where all return to activity should start.

Progressing levels of instruction and intensity will ensure a strong, fully functioning core while teaching you to incorporate these moves into your daily life. Return to run programs will also be offered after regaining your core strength & stability.

Benefits of this program:

  • Regain the strength of your core and pelvic floor
  • Reduce low back pain
  • Improve posture
  • Stabilization of hip, core and low back
  • Increased energy and mood
